The Books

Books I Never [Completely] Read (But Was Supposed To)
Lord of the Flies
Catch-22

Books I Never Read (Because No One Made Me)
The Great Gatsby - I actually read this one as part of my "52 in 52" project.  Growing up in Minnesota, home of Fitzgerald, we read other of his works, just not this staple.  I think I liked it better as an adult than I would have had I been forced to read it as a student.
Night
Heart of Darkness
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Brave New World
As I Lay Dying
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
The Bell Jar

Books I Read (But Should Read Again)
To Kill A Mockingbird
Of Mice and Men
1984
Death of a Salesman
The Catcher in the Rye
Animal Farm

Books I Read, Remember, and...Never Again.
Frankenstein - I had to read this in University as part of an intense three-week course called "World Literature II" for which there was no prerequisite to have taken "World Lit I."  I remember this being a painful experience.
Beowulf - This was a part of my senior year AP Humanities class, for which I caught major senioritis and foolishly didn't take the AP Exam.  However, I have vivid memories of trudging through this story as our teacher had us read it together as a class.
Metamorphosis - Full disclosure: I faked this one in high school.  Then the aforementioned "World Lit II" course forced me to revisit it.  I sucked it up and actually read it.  The memory is still too recent.
